Maxalt Melt tablets, also known as Maxalt-Mlt, are an effective migraine treatment manufactured by Organon Pharma Ltd.
Unlike other migraine tablets, Maxalt Melt tablets quickly dissolve on your tongue. This makes them suitable for people who have difficulty taking normal tablets, and those who experience vomiting or sickness during a migraine attack. The tablets are peppermint-flavoured to make them more palatable to take.
In the UK, Maxalt is only available on prescription. With our online service, you can get a private prescription for migraine tablets online and have the treatment delivered directly to your door.
To get started, complete our online medical form, which will be reviewed by one of our online prescribers.
If our prescriber approves your order before 3pm on weekdays, you can experience relief from migraines the following day.
How Do Maxalt Melt Work?
Maxalt Melt tablets contain rizatriptan in the form of rizatriptan benzoate.
When taken, rizatriptan constricts the blood vessels, making it more difficult for pain signals to reach the brain. It also blocks certain substances that cause painful migraine symptoms.
While Maxalt Melt tablets can’t prevent a migraine from happening, they can reduce symptoms once a migraine attack has begun.
How long do Maxalt Melt take to work?
Maxalt Melt can start working within 30 minutes for some people. However, it can take up to an hour for Maxalt Melt to start working.
How To Take Maxalt Melt For Migraine
The usual dose of Maxalt Melt is 10mg. Our online prescriber can discuss the most appropriate dosage for you.
Maxalt Melt can be taken with or without food. However, it is best to take Maxalt Melt on an empty stomach.
Take Maxalt Melt as soon as possible after your headache begins. Maxalt Melt does not prevent a migraine from occurring and should not be taken during the onset of an aura.
Maxalt Melt tablets are designed to quickly dissolve in your mouth.
Do not take more than two doses of Maxalt Melt in any 24-hour period.
If your migraine returns within 24 hours of taking Maxalt Melt, you can take a second dose. You must leave at least 2 hours between each dose.
If your migraine does not subside after 2 hours of taking Maxalt, do not take another dose of Maxalt Melt for the same migraine attack.
